OUR MISSION

Jesus followers building bridges to meet tangible needs, equip leaders and transform our city

Our History

About 20 years ago a group of pastors came together to pray for each other. At some point one of them asked “This is great, providing fellowship for each other, but what are we doing in the community to make a difference?” And that is how the concept of Arlington Bridge Builders was birthed. ABB is a coalition of churches, ministries and individuals who join together to share the Good News, make disciples and meet practical needs.

Each pastor or community leader dreams of a ministry initiative that touches everyone in our city but is not able to do it by themselves. The Goliath in our community is best addressed as we link arms together in Jesus name.

Arlington Bridge Builders combines the strengths and resources to address the problems and challenges that seem too big for any single one of us so people in need get real, timely and tangible help.

Our county is only 26 square miles, it is the 7th wealthiest in the country, and yet we have many neighbors that live in extreme poverty. We are also very diverse, with more than 100 different people groups from all over the world who speak 125 different languages, how do we serve effectively?

The answer, is to bring kingdom minded churches together. We work to equip these partners with resources, support and opportunities so that they might better reach their communities.

Our job then is to build bridges that ultimately bring hope to every corner of Arlington VA.

Please explore our website. We hope you join us on our endeavor to strategically impact our community.
Our Vision is to see a thriving and unified body
of believers, in which:
  • Local churches regularly partner for more effective ministry
  • A growing number of people are living as followers of Jesus and are sharing Good News
  • Create a model of collaboration and equipping that multiplies in other communities

Our Community is multi-ethnic and diverse racially and socio-economically. Arlington is culturally diverse, with lots of people groups from over 100 countries. It is also the seventh richest county in the country, and yet extreme poverty lives side-by-side with vast wealth. We run several programs that allow us to share God's love and meet practical needs through:
  • Direct financial assistance
  • Food pantry and Relational Outreach Ministry
  • Support of school age children through Back to School programs.
  • Life skill classes for Immigrants with practical and relevant support.
  • Weekly Pastors' meetings for encouragement and Prayer.

OUR CORE VALUES

Because of the radical good news of what Jesus Christ has done for us in His death and resurrection, we go, we love, and we serve in His name.
(1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Romans 1:16-17)

Action Driven
Jesus’ love compels us to actively serve our neighbors with the greatest needs. (Matthew 25:40)

Bold Beliefs
We believe Jesus is:
• Revolutionary – He alone can change the motivations of our heart.
• Relevant - He is current to every culture and circumstance.
• Relational – He shapes how we love, relate, and share the good news with others.
Therefore, we invite people to know Him and empower leaders to serve others.
(2 Corinthians 5:14-20; Matthew 28:18-20)

Blessing Our Community
Jesus calls us to bless our neighbors, our community and transform our city, in partnership with gospel-centered churches.
(Jeremiah 29:7; Isaiah 58; 1 Peter 3:8-9)
